My name is Priya Shastri. I am resident of Saratoga CA since 2017. I have been working in the Bay area since 2004. I am currently working in Couchbase. During this period I have had the privilege of working in companies like VMware, Intel, Oracle and Sun Microsystems respectively. Each place has taught me something unique to carry forward in my journey of life.
Most recently I was chosen to head the Heritage Preservation Commission of Saratoga for the City of Saratoga. This position also involves the work of looking at the Heritage Orchard of Saratoga which is a home to a large number of apricot trees and plum trees.
Through my run for Saratoga City council I aim to be the voice of the people and help them to get their visions manifested.
All the large tasks are accomplished by baby steps.
A lot goes into a person becoming a representative of the community. I am realizing that a person is a sum total of all the trust and the interests of what other people have imposed upon one.
My family has been my biggest pillar of support through all these years and I thank them whole-heartedly!
No one succeeds on his own, it is a lot of sweat and toil of other people that pushes people to success. I humbly seek your support in my run for City council 2022.

Live life to the fullest!
I have lived and worked in the Bay area since 2004. I bring in a lot of experience by interacting with colleagues from different backgrounds and interests while working in the tech sector.
My ideas have shaped largely from the interactions with colleagues and friends.
Being an immigrant who came to the US in 2001 and fighting my way to a part time job and then a Teaching Assistant has taught me to fight for the things that I want.
I believe that "silence is never an option". One has to speak up for oneself in order to live a life of choice.
There will be obstacles in the way of achieving the target, but that is what shapes the human being.
